A global OEM's uptime centre needed a reporting dashboard for live operations — turning real-time vehicle data into a powerwall the team could act on. Delivery was organised as a series of sprints with regular governance to ensure continued progress, split between pre-development scoping and active development.

Pre-development

  • Consolidated and agreed reporting requirements with stakeholders, translating them into user stories with fully defined unit tests
  • Interviewed 30 stakeholders across the business to understand which metrics support them and the business context of their team
  • Reviewed the technical architecture: data sources, access methods, refresh rates — captured in end-to-end process maps to visualise the IT architecture
  • Created and agreed an implementation plan to move from basic concept through to embedding and handover to the client BAU team

Active development

  • Designed dashboard UX, ensuring readability of each individual metric and a coherent overall story
  • Refined data to the most impactful metrics, building data pipelines and visualisations that draw the eye to key information
  • Translated all metrics into Qliksense as required by client tooling restrictions
  • Moved from manual and semi-automated analysis to self-sufficient real-time data pipelines
  • Re-focused on BEV products as corporate priorities shifted to specific business-critical customers
  • Refined and cleansed data through embedding to support agile feedback from live users
  • Supported hardware selection and tailored the dashboard to available options
